A Little About Myself...
I'm a Christian first and wife second. Christ is my savior and salvation who changed me into the person I am today and I strive to cling to Him more and more each day through His Father's grace.
I'm in the military, which is its own set of joys and challenges. The military has brought about some wonderful things for me that I am eternally grateful for. It brought me my husband, my faith, discipline, and a much better understanding of fitness and nutrition.
Before the military I grew up in a very creative family, and was taught: sewing, knitting, and quilting. While in school I was a competition pianist, went to a musical theatre conservatory during high school, and took classes in visual art. This went along with the dance, voice, and piano lessons. I went to college as an art major and almost finished my art foundation year in college, but then ended up changing majors two more times to psychology and then english. After not being able to make up my mind in what I wanted to major in I decided to join the army! Logical choice, obviously.
About This Blog...
The idea for 'Hopeful Morning' got started when I got back from Iraq. I wanted a place to document growth, learning, and creativity. When I originally started this blog I had no idea what I was doing. I was all over the place, and this blog reflected that. I felt compelled to let go of my blog for awhile, and have since returned when I felt ready to finally start it back up again. When looking at other blogs the ones I found myself drawn to are heavily focused on teaching and learning. Some of them are a variety of topics while others are a focus on one main topic.
I decided I wanted mine to reflect a love of learning and, and to delve into topics I had difficulty finding. For example, really breaking down into small steps how to develop good habits, etc. I wanted it to go into the things that I've had to learn the hard way, and am still struggling with.
The name was inspired by my husband who in the midst of comforting me during my deployment to Iraq told me, "every morning the sun rises and I wake up hopeful." Essentially it boils down to everyday is a new day with new beginnings and another chance to do things right in this imperfect world. I felt it was applicable to what I'm trying to do now. Every day is a new beginning a new chance to change and to create a better environment for our family to grow closer to God, and possibly inspire other believers to do just the same.I decided I wanted mine to reflect a love of learning and, and to delve into topics I had difficulty finding. For example, really breaking down into small steps how to develop good habits, etc. I wanted it to go into the things that I've had to learn the hard way, and am still struggling with.
I pray you see the wisdom in this and that you find peace, understanding, and edification in these posts. And if you haven't found Christ and have stumbled onto this blog I pray that this may be a stepping stone for you to invite Him into your life. I also pray that the Lord keep me straight on His path and that I represent Him accurately in truth and love. Amen.
